Do you have any questions about the lamps or the ordering process? Perhaps you'll find the answers here.
In addition to model names such as "Nano" or "MiniMax", our lamps have additional letters in their names:
SL: Stands for "street lamp." All lamps with this abbreviation are approved for use on German roads.
A: These lamps are powered by an external battery.
Q: This lamp has a high beam that can be controlled with a remote control.
Example:
SL Nano AF: StVZO approved lamp with external battery and high beam.
All our lamps meet the industry standard of IP67.
As an end customer, you can easily order through this website or seek advice from one of our dealers.
To prevent accidental reprogramming, first reset the lamp to its factory settings. You can find the programming diagram in your lamp's manual.
No, that's not technically possible. We have models specifically tailored to the requirements of modern e-bikes.
Yes. For this, you need the long-lasting cable as an accessory.
Note: USB-C version only for SL Mono models from 05/2025!
This is due to the activated brightness sensor. If the ambient light isn't yet dark enough, the headlights dim again in compliance with the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO). The brightness sensor detects when it gets dark and automatically switches from the daytime running lights to the low beam.
The operating diagram in the product manual explains how to deactivate the automatic mode if necessary.
The connection between the lamp and Bluetooth remote control may vary depending on the model. Please refer to your lamp's user manual for detailed pairing instructions.
Yes, the lamp should always be disconnected from the battery when not in use.
This can prevent potential damage caused by heat build-up when accidentally switched on and deep discharge of the battery.
The battery capacity is measured in ampere-hours (Ah) and watt-hours (Wh). The 6.9Ah battery (7.2V) has a capacity of 50Wh. Divide the watt-hours by the power consumption to determine the runtime.
Example: The SL MiniMax AF consumes 25 watts of power in its high beam mode. With this battery, it has a runtime of 2 hours (50/25=2).
With 8 watts of power in the low beam it is 6:25 hours, with 2 watts in the daytime running light it is 25 hours.
You can easily check the compatibility of our e-bike lights with the various motors in our compatibility list.
No, that's not technically possible. There are special models for use with an external battery, specifically designed for the needs of non-motorized bikes.
Yes, that is possible - provided the motor provides enough watts to operate your chosen front and rear lights.
No, the light cable must be ordered separately from the lamp. You can find the different cables for the front and rear lights in the accessories section.
The Bosch motor has a square connection and the Bosch BES3 has a round connection.
This indicates an overvoltage. Causes can include:
1. The lamp draws more watts in the high beam than the engine outputs.
2. A rear light is also powered by the motor. The combined front and rear light requires more watts than the motor outputs.
3. The light connection on the motor is not
fully unlocked and/or an update to the engine has been performed.
Your dealer can help you here.
We recommend having a dealer connect the Lupine lamp to the engine.
FrontClick is our quick-mount system that allows the Penta Pro, Piko, and Blika light heads to be converted from a headband to a helmet mount in just a few easy steps. A Velcro and an adhesive mount are available for helmets.
FastClick is the corresponding battery holder for the helmet or headband.
The Penta headlamp can also be converted to FronClick with the appropriate accessories.
This is possible using the appropriate quick release or the FrontClick handlebar mount.
Please note that this mounting variant is not StVZO compliant!
No, only the FastClick battery with 3.5 Ah capacity is suitable for this.
Larger batteries with higher capacity are connected to the lamp via an extension cable and must be stored in the backpack/jacket.
Yes, it has an alternative charging socket for Micro Charger, Charger One and our Wiesel.
No, the PTL has its own charger and a special charging port.
This is completely normal. The middle LED is red and only lights up in 0.3W red mode. In all other white light modes, the six outer LEDs light up.
With our Li-Ion batteries you can normally expect 500 to 800 full
charge/discharge cycles before the usable capacity drops noticeably to about 70% of the nominal value.
Even after this time, the battery can still be used, but with a reduced lighting time. After about 6 to 8 years, the battery is often so old that
an exchange makes sense – especially for safety-critical applications
(e.g. night trips).
In this case, you will receive a 20% discount on a new battery if you return the old one to us for safe disposal.
Li-ion batteries are unbeatable here: They lose only about 10% of their capacity per year at a storage temperature of 20°C, and even less at lower temperatures. However, the loss is significantly higher at higher temperatures, so avoid storing at temperatures above 25°C.
Proper care of your battery can significantly extend its lifespan. Here are the most important points to consider:
1. Store the battery in a cool, dry place
Temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius place increasing strain on batteries – even when not in use. In cars, temperatures can reach over 50 degrees Celsius. Leaving a battery there for several hours or days can lead to damage. The charge level plays a significant role in this.
subordinate role – heat is always harmful.
2. Avoid excessive performance load
Small batteries with very powerful lamps (e.g., in boost mode) place a heavy strain on the cells. In this case, it's ideal to only use maximum power for short periods. The battery should be recharged immediately after use.
3. Prefer stress-free unloading
Below 40% capacity, the load on the battery increases significantly, as the
Current must be increased to maintain voltage.
A discharged battery should be charged immediately, otherwise there is a risk of deep discharge, which can permanently damage the battery.
In many cases, there is no defect—often simply the battery's integrated protection circuitry has been activated, for example, due to deep discharge or long storage.
The result: The battery appears to be “dead”, but is slowly recharged by the charger.
"awake".
Solution:
Note: A possible warranty claim only applies if the battery has always been charged exclusively with the original Lupine charger.
Yes, with our USB-C charger.

The connection between the lamp and Bluetooth remote control may vary depending on the model. Please refer to your lamp's user manual for detailed pairing instructions.
To establish a connection between the lamp head and the app, the lamp head must be set to receive mode. After connecting the lamp head to the battery, the lamp will be in receive mode for 20 seconds.
The lamp should now appear in the app for connection.

Depending on the product category, different warranty claims can be made:
Lamp heads: 10-year warranty (lifetime guarantee)
Batteries: 2 years
The Lupine Lifetime Guarantee is our promise of quality to you – for durable, reliable products that you can still rely on even after years of use. In addition to the statutory 2-year warranty, we offer you a limited product guarantee of up to 10 years on all lamp heads. This corresponds to the expected service life of our high-quality lighting systems and accessories. The Lifetime Guarantee covers all material and manufacturing defects.
What this means in concrete terms: We will do everything we can to maintain or restore the original functional condition of your product for up to 10 years after purchase. In this way, we not only want to offer you the best service, but also contribute to sustainability – because the most sustainable product is the one you already own.
If you have a problem with a Lupine product, we will be happy to check whether it is covered by our lifetime guarantee. If this is the case, we will take care of repairs or restorations throughout the entire guaranteed service life.
Important to know: The lifetime guarantee refers to the lifetime of the product – not the lifetime of the purchaser – and is valid for 10 years.
Rechargeable batteries and batteries are covered by a statutory warranty period of 2 years from the date of purchase. They are excluded from the 10-year lifetime guarantee as they are consumables subject to technical wear and tear.
The Lifetime Guarantee does not cover damage caused by accidents, improper use, negligence, natural wear and tear, or natural colour and material deterioration or signs of wear over a longer period of time. Damage caused by normal wear and tear, modification, unauthorised repairs or misuse is also not covered by the Lifetime Guarantee.
The Lifetime Guarantee is non-transferable. It applies only to the original owner.
Please send your lamp to our repair department so we can check for defects. Please fill out the repair form. Without it, we cannot process your shipment.
Prior notification of the shipment is only necessary if the shipment is from a third country.
